    Hey,

When laying any form of flooring except hard ceramic floor tiles do you need to put a type of underlay? My bungalow is a new build and the flooring is just covered in large pieces of wood type stuff not proper wooden floor boards so do I need underlay for say any type of click flooring? I know it's best to lay it before the skirtings are put on, and before anyone asks I do not have underfloor heating in my bungalow. I do know from having laminate, hard ceramic tiles and real wood floor coverings my current house feels very cold in winter almost baltic and that is with heating on. Do you think the bungalow will be the same? I am needing advice on what to lay as I have dogs and the flooring has to be durable to their claws etc.

    Cheers Trish :p

    Hi trish....
Sounds like you have either a floating floor or chipboard which are normally 6 foot by 2 or 8 foot by 2.

Well it's best to check each manufacturers specification if your using a click system the floor must be very flat and level to ensure the joints don't split
