Hi Lads, I know it will be less than a 3mm coat but, How much do you think i should be getting paid to scratch coat 3 floors at 1000m2 a floor? with primer? any feedback would be much appreciated
Is it for yourself Are you supplying materials or are you just subbing? If subbing probably a day rate.
Nar not day rate coz I bet they want it doing quickish and a day rate on that big an area isn't feasible for fitter . A day rate screeding 3000 msq?? Fitter would take about a month If you go in at £1 a meter you will do well ££££ be prepared to come down a bit tho coz most fitters could do 500 msq a day scratch coat.
Ha, yes o.k, I was waiting to see what everyone said first. Personally, I would want £1.50, but would try for £1.75 Primer is always worth 50p in my book, and a quid is a low as I would go to trowel anything. It`s also worth asking what the plot is with loading out. 1000 sq of scratch coat, will still need a fair amount of latex. If there is no lift/hoist it could take a day to load out. Or more when you get to the 3rd floor.
Your not gunna get £1.50 msq for putting scratch coat down of latex on an area of 3000msq big areas. Not a chance mate .
That's supply and lay surely .?. I was talking labour only ,thought that's what his original post meant. Like a subying rate.
Just my opinion. Labour only, prime and screed £1.50 min. I get plenty of work at that rate, so it does work.
Just out of interest how would you apply a scratch coat with a pin leveller set at say 2mm? I don't do big contract work, I'd find it hard to use only a small amount of screed with just a trowel.
