Was in brum town center tonight and was looking at some stereo's. I wondered into the head phones section and put a pair on to listen to what was playing.

So there i am, listening away and i looked at the price........... £699.99 for a pair of head phones!

Dont get me wrong, i appreciate quality and spent a fortune on my current stereo set up which is a mix of Denon and B&W speakers. Yes it sounds good, was it worth what i paid........ possibly not as most cant tell the difference between it and a cheap system. Yes it will impress if you turn it up, but quality and loud dont mix so defeats the point.

Anyway, back to these head phones. As above i appreciate quality kit, but how the **** can you warrant £699.99 for two small speakers with a head strap? there is no trick amps, receivers etc. Its a pair of head phones!

We're they Bose? I remember being on a job and this fella had some. I put them on and even before he turned the music on I couldn't hear him talk.
The music kicked in and wow. Best sound I've ever heard. He said they cost a Bomb. But can't rem how much.

bose do make the best headphones although unless you use them for mixing etc... you won't get your moneys worth out of them

ive got a small bose system with the ipod deck. Sound is quality and very loud and being so small it doesnt take any space. They do the wireless aswell which i great for the summer outside having bbqs. Bose used to, maybe still do the car systems for porsche so you would expect quality. They do a system for your computer with 2 speakers and sub. £249, my friend has it and its brilliant , if you have all your music on your laptop, no need for a stereo. Get what you pay for.

Bose are good but dont come close to Denon / B&W.

I have a Bose ipod dock and my Audi had the Bose upgrade also.

Bose are a good midrange high quality product. I guess you can compare to a 42oz carpet or Karndean knight tile for you LVT lads. B&W are more like your 50oz carpet or proper amtico. Miles ahead.

As i said in first post tho. Most people can tell the difference with a good high quality product. But anything above that and it could be classed as wasted money as most cant tell the difference.

For reference the Bose head phones was £129 quid. To be fair i could not fault them and could not justify the £699.99 head phones. I couldnt justify £129 quid on head phones either. There not large speakers with trick internals asked to push a lot of power, they dont have to preform in different size rooms etc. , they are very small speakers mounted in plastic.

And the main thing is the power source. The item amp is supplying the quality. Bit like the subfloor prep for us lot is teh key to a quality finish. Subfloor good then almost anything you fit on top will look good. Subfloor prep crap then it dont matter how much money you spend on the end product, it will look crap.

Suppose you can compare them to a door mat and a fully fitted carpet.
