Got a days work with another fitter, what I am very happy of. I don't mean to sound ungreatful however There is a big **** off roll coming to the job, 30 x 4 50oz city twist. He bought the roll because it was a little bit cheaper all in all I have to fit 120 m2 with him tomorrow. All I can say is I hope to god it aint raining tomorrow. To make it worse we or no one we know own a barra. ****.
If there was a Marks and Spencer anywhere near, you might find one of there green trolleys had been thrown away ! They often leave them outside, near the skip They are the best, I have had 6 tonne of steel on 2 of them.
Go past a cash and carry they always have low heavy duty trollies or garden centres and "cough" acquire one..
It was a nightmare, the truck didn't have a barra and we didn't have a barra. The guy what I was doing the work for used the hoist from the supplier to put it in the back of his van was some dodgy ****. He drove up the steep drive and then told me to sit on the end of the roll and then drove forward and that dragged it out the back of his SWB transit van. Got there at 7:30 AM and the roll arrived at 4:15 PM we was done by 10. He had to go back and do a room and the stairs. Not a bad day after all. Easy a half ton of carpet on that roll.
Thankfully I,ve put them sort of times behind me , sounds like a pretty hard and long day, hope it was well paid !!
