Got some areas to fit with carpet and loose lay vinyl, place got flooded and the thermoplastic tiles have all been lifted, there is a slightly sticky film left, is there a screed and I can use over this bearing in mind i,m not sticking anything to it, or have I got to price to scrape it all up ??

I'd always price to scrape up mate adhesive residue could fail causing NA to fail, it CAN be used over addy but might cost you if it goes wrong

I have got a stripping machine, suppose I could use that its a fair area 100 sqm, but if there was a screed to do the job then all the better

anything you apply over the top will be bonding itself to what ever is underneath. You as the floorlayer are responsible for checking that what ever is on the subfloor is suitably bonded to the subfloor before you apply a smoothing compound etc over it.

If the adhesive underneath fails in 3 months time you are liable.

Ardex NA for example can be applied over the top of old adhesives. BUT its you that guarranty the old adhesive stays down. NOT Ardex

If your fitting loose-lay vinyl then NA should do it over residues.
