Hey guys My mum has quite a few dogs and the footfall/traffic of grubby paws between the garden and through the lounge meant that it lounge carpet needed continual cleaning so she put a long rubber-based carpet-topped rug over her carpet to protect it. The problem is the rug kept lifting at the edges and was a continual trip hazard so she tried to stick the edges down and now there's strips along the carpet where the adhesive tape has been pulled off but residue remains. Regrettably, it was with a mesh tape that's meant to join sections of carpet together (but did realise when purchasing) and we can't get it off. We've tried white spirits, De-Solv-it sticky stuff remover, nail polish remover containing ethylene glycol and propylene glycol, paint and varnish remover (Benzy alcohol) and some unknown alcohol from work that dissolves glue from edge-banding machines. It seems alcohol isn't the solution to all of life's problems after all Can anyone in the business recommend a product that will remove it. Help would be very much appreciate!!! P.S. We're UK based so availability of stuff from other countries may be limited
Haha never thought of that but will get some and try it. What's the worst that can happen..... the carpet's knackered as it is with the stick stuff on it!
Thank you very, very much buddy. It seems to be lifting the worst of it and may take a few goes to get it all out but it seems to be doing the trick a million times better than alcohol-based products. Have ordered some Goo Gone too to see if it helps break apart the fibres that seem to be bunched together. Thanks again!!!
Wurth Industry Cleaner removes sticky residue, oil, blood, grease etc etc from all carpets and types of flooring in fact almost anything. Totally inert leaves no residue behind will not affect the carpet. It comes in a spray can. I was never without a can in the van, saved my bacon a few times lol. Only downside, it’s expensive
