I'm gonna be fitting lvt in my house and don't know what kind of subfloor it is yet. I was wondering what type of subfloor would need to be ground down before I screed over the top. I've been doing the job for about 3 years and only 20 years old so just trying to gain more knowledge
Unless you have laitance from a new subfloor or a really soft or cracked/blown levelling compound you shouldn’t need to. Or a high spot in the subfloor. There are plenty of consolidating primers, dpms and levelling compounds that go over most subfloors. Really depends on the state of the surface. What’s the subfloor? I would suggest you find out what type of subfloor you have before you find out how to handle it, it could be a wood floor?
