Thanks for the advice so far. We have ordered Amtico Form with an authorised fitter :)

However, given that we have UFH, I was paranoid about exceeding the stated 27 max.

Amtico actually state "If Amtico is laid on a screed which incorporates hot water pipes or under-floor heating, these should be insulated to ensure that the temperature at the adhesive interface does not exceed 27°C.".

Now, having read it elsewhere prior, I thought that I just had to keep the room sub 27 (no idea what I do in summer on a hot day).
However, if it actually has to be the adhesive interface then that means the slab surface cannot exceed 27. Given that the manifold minimum mix temperature is 35 (IIRC) then should I be concerned that the slab will end up too warm before the room is suitably warm?

For instance, 4 pipes (2 out and 2 return) pump out straight from the manifold and this area always warms quickest. Surely, (if the mixer is 35) this area will end up with a surface temp > 27 before the rest of the slab and therefore room hits a good temperature in winter?
I guess I can try and keep it warm so this doesn't happen but on first start ups surely this will happen?

Any advice please, wondering if I have ordered something and shot myself in the foot :(

    Thanks

I think that’s why ufh should be left on constantly and run at a low temperature. It also shouldn’t be turned on full blast like a radiator system. It should be increased gradually.

Thanks, it will still have to start up at some point though :) I think I will buy an infrared thermometer so that I can verify the surface temperature.

Our builders plumber caused us a heap of issues but the latest was that I noticed he had left the mixer on max which is the total opposite of what we should be doing. Hopefully it hasn't caused any damage during the few times that I had it on for a couple of hours :(

Currently deliberating over which velux blinds to get. The Amtico faces the north so generally speaking the light is being kept off it until late evening / summer :)

Yes the start up should defo be done before the floor is fitted and run for 2 weeks. I’ve seen one system start up and the plumber couldn’t control it. It went full power and cracked the liquid cement subfloor massively.

Itll be fine if its installed correctly with the correct adhesive
I really wouldn't worry yourself The actually max temp is higher that 27 but its British stands to say 27 so all manufacturers have to state it as fact

And don’t put any thick rugs down or you will have issues
