I was just wandering if Anyone has heard of a recent problem with some tarkett lvt, like the backing having a fault?
We did 2 properties in the opus grano around the same month, all same batch etc ordered at the same time. Both properties have suffered shrinkage to the point where the planks have shrunk 1-2mm shorter than the original size per plank. Ita happened in random places and not just along 1 or 2 rows. We have karndean coming out to have a look and see what excuses they bring up. Out both properties there must be atleast 60 planks effected
I'm starting to beleive and agree with your hate for karndean especially when it comes to their customer service. Knight tile used to be a pain to fit but give me that all day long over opus at the min. Finished a job couple days ago in their art select storm oak (big planks and not the parquet) and every tile you couldn't fit flush, had to get spaceys screwdriver out
I only ask, because a fitter (at least that's what he claims to be) that used to work for me, says there has been some sort of recall on some of their lvt, the problem being that the adhesive won't stick to the backing, but knowing his work, I'm not sure how true it is
My favourite Karndean advice is on the installation guide for looselay, which we all know isn’t a looselay system, even Karndean do as they have bought out their own tackifier. They tell you to take all the tiles out of the box and lay them out across the floor to acclimatise for 48 hrs. That’s just not possible on 9/10 jobs. I wonder how many poor bastards have tried to install that stuff without adhesive and how many had help from Karndean when it didn’t work? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Art select is pants, the finish scratches so easily. I only find VG decent out of all of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not yet no but may have one coming up in November. Customer is hoping she can find the right tone in amtico
Thanks, just wanted to check, as I've just ordered a load for a job, i suspected as much, after all the jobs of his I've had to put right or replace and apparently it's never his fault
What adhesive? What ply or screed ? What was the weather and humidity like on prep and fit day? Any high solar gain areas ?
I know i probably come across as being overly critical of other fitters, but when i have to deal with things like folded up double sided tape under lvt to try and level up a bad screed or cushionfloor fitted on gripper, i don't think I'm being unreasonable
