Hi guys new to here. Just looking for some advice. Been told by a carpet right surveyor that I have a higher than acceptable level of moisture in my kitchen floor which is a year old this month and made of concrete. They have asked us if they wish for us to have the luxury vynal click flooring fitted still? I'm at a loose end atm. I don't know what the reading was done with. I apparently something hand held and also if the reading are high what can I do. I have Durley I can speak with the housing constructors and have it dealt with perhaps. The house is only a year old I didn't expect this news. Any advice woukd help.
I know I'm actually rempted to just buy the flooring from them and get someone proper to fit it. Would a liquid dpm not be provided when carpet wrong lol
I have no idea but if they are telling you it contains to much moisture you'd expect them to tell you and suply you with the solution as part of the job
Would a DPM not be provided by carpet right? Damp in the floor is common? If is that due to it being a year old or due to it being a kitchen? Or am I wrong compleatly lol
It's not damp.as such just construction moisture from when the concrete was mixed and poured By the sound of it the guy from CR hasn't tested it properly any way so I recommend finding a professional flooring installer to test it properly for you
Yea that woukd be my next step I'll see what is what tomorrow. Not happy though. They were just gonna lay the floor. We were the ones who asked for a survey. They suggested they would just lay it
Some click systems are moisture tolerant. But, as Spacey said, you first need to determine how much moisture is in the floor. Standard for this is RH% I doubt CR will have the know how, or tools to measure this for you
Dont stress about it, its not the end of the world you can still have your vinyl flooring just as long as you get it properly checked out and addressed accordingly. Its if the flooring was down and you found out after that your floor was damp and you tripped over a warped plank and Knocked yourself out thats a sore head AND a hefty bill because carpetfright wouldnt put it right for you. Least you know now what you need to do....just stay away from carpetfright and get a reputable company in.
