When it comes to adhesives sikabond is the only at whom you can trust for having well finished wooden flooring in your home. Sikabond offer large varieties of adhesives like sikaT54, Sika 95, sikaT55 and many more. Amongst them sika T54 is the most recommended adhesive nowadays.

Sikabond T54 is an one section, flexible, prepared to-utilize glue which is immaculate to use on strong and engineered wood floorings. It is odourless, solvent free and can be used with chip boards, wood paving and chip boards. Beside this, it is additionally suitable for different sorts of wood floors, even the hazardous ones like beech and bamboo, and subfloor warming. Its incredibly strong versatility can bond any wood flooring to almost any base component. Applying Sikabond T54 wood floor adhesive is simple in light of the fact that it has quick curing properties. When it is cured, it empowers the wood flooring to normally move along without harming either the wood boards or the substrate.

    Sika T54
can be spread onto the surface effectively. An 13kg pail can easily cover up to 16m2 to 20m2 with low emission of EC-1.In the event that you will utilize Sikabond T54 to follow your hardwood flooring, you won't have the capacity to hear the stick clank of stilettos and different sounds made by your feet on the grounds because it has astounding footfall-sound hosing qualities.

What to use in applying Sikabond T54?

There are two approaches to apply sikabond adhesive: utilizing a trowel or an dispensing gun. Sikabond T54 adhesives have exceptional bundling made for dispensing gun reloads.

    Using a dispensing gun

A dispensing gun works like a syringe as far as stacking it with the adhesive. As far as dispensing, it works like a caulking gun. It can be reloaded very easily without any effort. SikaT54 wood floor adhesives come in 600cc sausage which makes it at last uncomplicated to load an dispensing gun. To utilize a gun, just place the sausage inside it. Remove one end and let the glue out. These 600cc sausages easily cover the area of approximately 1.5m2. Bonding hardwood floors can be possible in a wink of an eye with an dispensing gun.

    Using a trowel

Despite the fact that a trowel can likewise be utilized as a part of applying Sikabond T54, a dispensing gun is better when applying over a substantial range. A dispensing gun is easier, quicker and more exact to use than a trowel.

    Tips in applying the adhesive

To accomplish SikaT54's ideal adhesive ability, the surface must be cleaned, dried, and liberated from traces of contamination. Any prior coats or adhesives must be removed completely. Place a Coat of Sika Primer before applying the adhesive.

Tried using the sausage in the gun and forgot to remove it afterwards. The nozzle became completely stuck and I was unable to unscrew it's retaining washer. This made future re-use of the £35 gun impossible.

Lesson learned - remove sausage and clean the inside of the gun plus the nozzle retainer thread!

This is just advertising. They claim to be NWFA members but when I checked with the NWFA there is no record of their membership (nor the BWFA). There is some interesting advice given on their website about moisture content of concrete and what is and isn't acceptabl, and the covereage rates stated for the adhesives will almost certainly leave the customer needing to buy more to finish the job. It's OK for the professionals beause we know they are wrong.
I'd ask a professional before following it!!

Agree with Angry Andy. Starting to get a little spammy now o_O

Giving genuine help and advice to people that ask on a forum is far better that knocking together articles to improve page rank. If admin has agreed, then fair enough. I note by the lack of action taken by the mods, that this has been agreed.

Generic replies also don't cut the mustard.
