corridors rest home 700m2 bully up old stuff ,skim and fit burmatex carpit tiles working away digs paid for i gave a quote of £10 m2 as i aint done any price work for a while is this a fair rate?
i`m already there ! I used to do a fair bit in homes, and can safely say, i`d rather just be put out of the misery !
Ive done a fair few and some of the sites you see is both depressing and emotional but id love to know which biddy threw their dirty nappy behind the wardrobe on the last one I did. That image still haunts me
hated doing that work, done it for years in the anchor homes, we went from shelter to nursing to dementia ones, thoroughly depressing working in them.
I did too. I worked for a charity, homeless, drug abuse, alcoholism. Bad times ! The very most filthy, disgusting work you could do. By 8am, the toilets were 1" deep in ****. Very sad also, people with absolutely no self respect, and in most cases, no respect for anyone else
Whenever I'm doing old people's work I always think about that story. Always makes me feel better! Ha
did council homes in brent area, wiping your feet on way out jobs bleeding disgusting, got a lot of funny looks when getting the rubber gloves out to work in as id literally have a look at area and put them on there and then, how some people live in that kind of filth is unreal!
I walked into one, and 5 or 6 junkies were all sitting round cooking up. Dont think they even noticed I was there. That was a private let. I also did some re gen work in Brent. As you say, not a good look
