i know its a definate no no but has anyone screeded over stuck down safety?
the guy a subbie to has seen a demonstration of the ardex na at the harrogate show and theyve told him it can go over anything:confused:
basically he wants me to do it because theres no money in the job to uplift and the customer wants it flat.

I've screeded over with all sorts of screed over the years. Feather finish mostly.
Then used f44 to glue it letting it go off a bit.
Not right but has to be done as cutbacks. And council won't pay for the full job.

NA won't crack That's why it can go over any subfloor
Ardex are now advertising it as suitable to use over ply wood.

chuck a bag of fibre glass strands in with it (floorskills tip), can get a 1kg bag for a fiver, then it will hold up over ply, id sooner use 1200 pro over na though.

Ive screeded over plenty of safety flooring.
The housing group dont want to pay so one of the firms I subby to do this. If its loose then of course it gets ripped up (at a cost) but when its flat as fook then the screed goes straight over the top. Kitchens/downstairs bathrooms.

They know the score, disclaimers signed and all that and as long as my invoice gets paid....

i do all of there safety and lvt they are normally spot on with everthing but its this job theyve asked me to do like this, a one off is fine but if it gets to being all the time then you jack it.

If they ask you once as a one off and you do it they'll ask you to do it again.

Just do it! As long as they know the deal
Just as long as you get them to understand its out of your hands if any comebacks.
Ive not had one failed yet and done it for the same company many times, as I said before if its curling up then i refuse to do it but if its flat then its primed then screeded. At the end of the day they are giving me a job sheet with the instructions on it, I follow the exact instruction and thats it!

Problem is with that if it does go wrong whether you had a job sheet or not, if it went to court and you knew it shouldn't be done that way it'll come down on you not the company. That happened to my mate who was told to just get it fitted, so he did even though he told them it shouldn't be done that way. It went wrong, ended up going to court, came back on him and he had to pay for it to be replaced.

and i presume he would have had to of paid on top -

    Court fees
    uplift
    and to do job correct.

The figure at end will be a lot more than what the actuall job cost in the first place?
